These terms apply to pest control services provided by Pest Control Unit and to the use of this website. By booking a service you agree to these terms.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are based on the information you provide about the property and the pest problem. If conditions on site differ materially from what was described — for example a larger property, additional pests, restricted access or an infestation more established than reported — we will discuss any variation with you before proceeding. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
Bookings and cancellations
Please give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Failed appointments where access is not provided may incur a call out fee.
Access and preparation
You agree to provide safe and clear access to the areas to be treated, and to complete any preparation instructions we supply before the visit. Where preparation has not been completed, the effectiveness of the treatment may be reduced and a re-treatment may be chargeable. A person aged 18 or over must be available to provide access.
Safety
We use registered products applied in accordance with their label directions. You must tell us before treatment about pregnancy, infants, elderly or immune compromised occupants, allergies, asthma or other respiratory conditions, fish tanks, birds, reptiles, beehives or edible gardens on the property. You agree to observe the re-entry period we give you on the day.
Warranty and re-service
A warranty period applies to eligible treatments, and is confirmed in writing on your service report. Where covered pest activity returns within the warranty period we will re-service the treated areas at no charge. Warranties do not apply where: preparation or aftercare advice was not followed; treated surfaces were washed, painted or steam cleaned; recommended proofing or structural works were not carried out; new pest pressure is introduced from a neighbouring property, renovation or new item brought onto the premises; or the pest is excluded from warranty for that treatment type. One off treatments, pre-purchase inspections and reports do not carry a warranty unless expressly stated.
Termite inspections and reports
Timber pest inspections are visual inspections of accessible areas at a point in time. They are not invasive or destructive, and areas that are concealed, inaccessible or obstructed cannot be inspected. An inspection is not a guarantee that termites are not present in inaccessible areas, and it does not constitute a structural or building report.
Payment
Payment is due on completion unless account terms have been agreed in writing. A tax invoice is issued for every job. Overdue accounts may incur reasonable recovery costs.
Liability
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Other than those guarantees, and to the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, for damage arising from concealed defects, or for indirect or consequential loss.
Website content
Information on this website is general in nature and does not replace an on site inspection or professional advice for your specific property. We take care to keep the site accurate but make no warranty that it is complete or current.
