Rat & Mice Control questions
Is rodent bait safe around my pets and kids?
We use lockable, tamper resistant stations secured in position so pets and children cannot access the bait, and we place them in voids, roof spaces and concealed external positions. Where a property has dogs, chickens or young children we will often lead with trapping instead.
What about a dead rodent smell in the wall?
It is a possibility with any rodent program. We reduce the risk by concentrating stations outside and in the roof void rather than inside wall cavities, and we remove carcasses wherever they are accessible. Any odour typically clears within one to two weeks.
How do they get in?
A mouse fits through a gap the width of a pencil and a rat through one about the size of a 50 cent piece. Weep holes, roof and gutter junctions, damaged vents, pipe penetrations and gaps under doors are the usual culprits — we point out every one we find.
How long does it take?
Most jobs are under control within one to two weeks. Larger or ongoing infestations — commercial sites, properties beside construction or waterways — do better on an ongoing monitoring program.
