Flea Treatment Melbourne

Only about five percent of a flea problem is on the pet. The rest is in the carpet, the bedding and the yard.

Flea Treatment

Flea Treatment you can actually rely on

Fleas are relentless because of their life cycle. Adults you can see are a small fraction of the population — eggs, larvae and pupae are down in carpet pile, floorboard gaps, pet bedding and shaded soil, and pupae can lie dormant for weeks waiting for movement and warmth.

That is why treating the pet alone never solves it, and why a single supermarket bomb never lasts. We treat the environment inside and out with products that include an insect growth regulator, so the emerging generation cannot mature and breed.

Our Process

How we handle flea treatment

Preparation

We give you a simple prep list — vacuum thoroughly, wash pet bedding hot, and arrange for the pet to be treated by your vet.

Internal treatment

Carpets, rugs, floor edges, under furniture, pet resting areas and floorboard gaps treated with a residual plus growth regulator.

External treatment

Shaded soil, under decks, along fence lines, kennel areas and lawn — the outdoor reservoir most treatments miss.

Follow up

Continue vacuuming daily to trigger pupae to hatch into the treated surface. A follow up is available if activity persists.

FAQs

Flea Treatment questions

Do I need to treat my pet as well?
Yes — always. If the pet is untreated it simply reintroduces fleas to the treated environment. Speak to your vet about a current spot on or oral product and time it with our visit.
Why am I still seeing fleas a week later?
Pupae are protected inside a cocoon and hatch over the following weeks. They emerge onto treated surfaces and die — so vacuum every day for two weeks to encourage them out. Activity should stop within about two to three weeks.
How long do we stay out of the house?
Usually two to four hours until surfaces are dry, and we will confirm the exact time on the day. Fish tanks must be covered and their pumps turned off during treatment.
Do you do end of lease flea treatments?
Yes, and many Melbourne leases require one where pets have been kept. You get a receipt and service report to give to your agent.
